Spanish media: Real Madrid striker is listed as an important target for signing by Paris Saint-Germain

According to Le World Sports and Spanish transfer media Fichajes, Paris Saint-Germain plans to complete a major signing in the summer of 2025 - signing Real Madrid striker Rodrigo.

Although the transfer fee may be as high as €80 million, the Brazil international has been listed as one of the priority signing targets by Paris.

Rodrigo's future at Real Madrid is becoming increasingly uncertain. The 24-year-old striker is no longer regarded as the absolute main force after Xavi Alonso takes over as the head coach. During the 2025 Club World Cup, he was arranged to sit on the bench many times, not even getting a minute of playing time against Juventus and Pachuca, and only made a substitute against Red Bull Salzburg. These signs have triggered widespread doubts about his position in the Real Madrid system.

Against this backdrop, Paris Saint-Germain took action quickly. Coach Louis Enrique is said to be the main promoter of the transfer. He hopes to introduce a fast and adaptable offensive player to enrich the frontcourt configuration. Rodrigo has the ability to move on the left and right wings and in the middle, and is considered an ideal candidate to form flexible linkages with Kvaratshelia, Dembele and rising star Desir Duere, which fits Enrique's changing tactical system.

At the same time, Rodrigo himself intends to leave the Bernabeu. His goal is to maintain a stable playing time and competitive state in preparation for the 2026 World Cup and strive to become the core of the Brazilian national team's forward line. However, with the rise of Mbappe, Enderick and Garcia, his chances of starting at Real Madrid are gradually shrinking.

Despite this, Real Madrid still regards Rodrigo as one of its important assets, and his contract will currently last until 2028. However, if Paris can meet the club's psychological expectations on the offer, especially after the poor performance of the Club World Cup, Real Madrid is likely to consider selling Rodrigo and use the funds to strengthen more urgently needed positions such as left-back or defensive midfielders.
