June 19 Sheffield United officially announced the appointment of Ruben Celes as the team's new coach, and the two sides have signed a contract for three years. Celes has coaching experience in both the Premier League and the Championship. He led Hull City to successfully relegation last season.

In the 2024-25 season, when Celes received Hull City coach position, the team was at the bottom of the league, but through a key battle, they were able to successfully relegate, and the opponent they defeated was Sheffield United. Before heading to Hull City, Celes' coaching experience in Reading was also remarkable. Despite the constant turmoil within the club, he still led the team to the sixth ranking in the league.

Celles was born in Valencia and coached the youth team locally at the age of 16. In 2002, Celes was admitted to the University of Valencia, where he worked as a coach of the school football team and was promoted. Academic, he holds a Master’s degree in Athletics and Physiology and completed the UEFA Professional Coaching Certificate Program at the age of 25.

Celles has accumulated rich coaching experience in Greece, Russia, Azerbaijan, Norway (concurrently serves as head of analysis), Denmark and Spain, and then coached in Southampton in the Premier League.
