Hupu News November 06: Monchengladbach officially announced that the contract with team striker Tim Kleindienst (Tim Kleindienst) has been extended by one year in advance, and the new contract will expire on June 30, 2029.
Sports director Reuven Schroeder said: "Kleindienst quickly grew into a team leader and a member of the national team in his first season, and became the team captain this season. We are very satisfied with his growth and performance. He is a leader on the field, and we are happy that he will return to the team after recovering from injury."
Kleindienst said in an interview: "I really feel very comfortable at Borussia Monchengladbach. This is a great club. I also fully believe in the potential of this team and hope to contribute to the club's continued improvement."
The 1.94-meter-tall center joined Monchengladbach in the summer of 2024 and quickly became the core of the team's forward line. In the first season, he scored 16 goals and provided 9 assists in 31 Bundesliga games. He was not only the top scorer of Borussia Monchengladbach, but also the team's offensive data leader.
Especially in the first half of the season, Kleindienst was in hot form. With his strong physical confrontation, active pressing and excellent game reading ability, he greatly improved the quality of Borussia Monchengladbach's offense. After half the game, he had contributed 9 goals and 5 assists. In the autumn of 2024, he made his debut for the German national team and scored 4 goals in the first 6 games. Entering the second half of the season, he continued to maintain an efficient performance, scoring another 7 goals and providing 4 assists.
However, in the 33rd round of the season against Bayern, Kleindienst unfortunately suffered a meniscus injury in his knee and was forced to sit out for a long time. After a tough recovery session, the striker finally returned to the training ground this week and resumed individual training with the ball for the first time.
