BBC reported on August 11 that Bournemouth defender Zabarney is about to undergo a medical examination and completes the transfer to join Paris Saint-Germain for £57.1 million.
The Ukrainian international centreback has arrived in Paris and has reached a personal agreement with the new UEFA Champions League champion on a five-year contract.
But Paris and Bournemouth are still discussing the final details of the 22-year-old's transfer, with a fixed transfer fee of £54.5 million and an additional clause linked to performance of £2.6 million.
Zabarney's transfer will be the third main defender Bournemouth sold in the transfer window this summer. Previously, Wyson joined Real Madrid for £50 million, while Liverpool signed Kolkedz for £40 million.
While Bournemouth had to rebuild the defense, they still made considerable profits from these three deals. Zabarney joined from Dynamo Kiev in 2023, with a reported transfer fee of £24 million. Wyson joined from Juventus for £12.6 million last summer, while Kolkz joined from Alkmaar for £15.5 million.
As for Zabarney's replacement, Bournemouth had reached an agreement with Diakte last weekend. The Lille central defender will join for an initial transfer fee of £30 million, with the additional terms eventually reaching £34 million.
According to internal sources in Bournemouth, Bournemouth originally expected to sell at least one defender this summer, but he did not expect to lose three main defenders at once. However, it is difficult for Bournemouth to refuse in the face of high offers from the three giants. Long negotiations with Paris show Bournemouth insists on completing the deal under the conditions it proposes, while also accepting the fact that every player wants to take the next step in his career.
