In order to prepare for the NBA draft, Heat President Pat Riley went to Southern California with several management members this week to inspect many potential players expected to be selected in the Heat's 20th pick.

Riley gathered with Adam Simon, vice president of basketball operations at Heat, Keith Askins, director of college/professional scouts, and team executive Eric Amster gathered in Los Angeles for a professional day trial.

The trial organized by Klutch Sports Group includes at least three players expected to be selected in the final to the 20th pick in the first round - University of Illinois forward Will Riley, University of Florida point guard Walter Clayton Jr., and St. Joseph's power forward Rahill Fleming.

2.03-meter-high forward Will Riley is very likely to become the Heat's key target in the 20th pick. This season, he averaged 12.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, shooting 43.2% from the field and 32.6% from three-point shooting percentage.

ESPN draft analyst Jonathan Givony commented: "Will Riley showed muscle-building results and offensive diversity under 2.03 figure on Klutch Professional Day, and many NBA decision-makers gathered on the scene."

Another analyst Jeremy Wu pointed out: "Railey has the excellent figure of wing players (particular trial barefoot measurements exceed 2.03 meters) and muscle-building space. His excellent offensive instinct and outside shooting potential have important training value and are suitable for teams willing to give patience. "

Fleming, who is 2.06 meters tall, was generally predicted to be selected in the mid-20th pick, averaged 14.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game last season, shooting percentage of 53.1%, and three-point shooting percentage of 39%. Wu analyzed: "His outstanding body shape and his efficient scoring at St. Joseph University this season show the potential of high-quality player. But as a late-stage player, he still needs to polish his ball control technology and tactical awareness. He is a rough jade that needs to be cultivated in the end of the first round rather than a plug-and-play option. "

1m88 Clayton shines in the NCAA Championship and leads the University of Florida to win the championship. He scored 30 points in the district final against Texas Tech, scored 34 points against Auburn in the NCAA semi-finals, and contributed 11 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds against Houston in the final. Givoni believes: "Although the joint trial body size data is not as expected, Clayton showed extraordinary shooting ability and all-round scoring methods, and has repeatedly made contributions at critical moments throughout the season. His speed and unpredictability have made the opponent's defense miserable. "It is predicted that he will be selected at the end of the first round. This season, he averaged 18.3 points and 4.2 assists per game, and his shooting percentage is 38.6%.

Other college players who may be on the Heat Draft shortlist include: Michigan State double-shock Jace Richardson, UConn forward Liam McNeley, Michigan power forward Danny Wolf, University of Georgia power forward Asa Newell, and Georgetown center Thomas Sauber. The Heat's original 15th draw this year has been sent to the Thunder in 2019.
