Battle of Redemption? Can the Lakers rookie s outbreak help him hold this training camp contract?

In a previous NBA Las Vegas summer league game, the Denver Nuggets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 106-84. After this game, the Nuggets' record in the summer league increased to 2 wins and 3 losses; while the Lakers' record in the summer league fell to 1 wins and 4 losses.

Although the Lakers lost the game, the team's substitute point guard RJ Davis finally performed well. Davis played 25 minutes and 29 seconds in the game, made 6 of 11 shots, 3 of 5 shots from outside the three-point line, and 2 of 2 free throws. He scored the team's highest score of 17 points plus 1 rebound, 3 assists and 1 steal. He also had 2 turnovers and 1 foul, with a plus-negative value of -13. Davis has shown his scoring ability on the offensive end, and he has also won a lot of points through various methods. He has finally proved that he is capable of becoming a qualified scorer. Davis has performed sloppyly in other aspects, but it seems that he has certain passing skills. Of course, Davis's ability on the defensive end is relatively average, and his figure is there, so it is indeed difficult for him to play a greater role in this regard. But from Davis's own perspective, he has done his task well. It’s just that the performance of other players is too bad, and it is normal for the Lakers to suffer a crushing defeat.

Summer League so far, Davis has averaged 14.6 minutes of playing time in the first seven games, with averaging 6.1 points, 1 rebound, 2.6 assists and 0.6 steals, 1.4 turnovers and 1.3 fouls, shooting percentage of 38.1%, three-point shooting percentage of 23.8%, and free throw shooting percentage of 66.7%. Davis' performance in the previous games was a mess. His highest score was only 9 points in a single game, and his offensive efficiency has always been very sluggish. His performance in passing and organization is not that outstanding, not to mention that he always has a negative effect on the defensive end. Davis has never been able to exert his characteristics, and his weaknesses seem very obvious, which makes everyone feel a little disappointed with his ability.

In this game, Davis finally showed his scoring ability. The backcourt core of the University of North Carolina in the past few seasons has finally shown his offensive talent. I don’t know if such a performance can impress the Lakers uniform group. It is not controversial that Davis became a undraft in this year's NBA draft. However, after the draft, the Lakers provided him with a training camp contract with Exhibit 10 clauses, which also shows that the Lakers still recognize Davis' ability. Will Davis's outbreak in this game help him hold this training camp contract?
