Another disaster performance! Is it really difficult for the Timberwolves forward to face the Thunder?

5:57am, 28 May 2025Basketball

In a previous NBA playoff Western Conference Finals G4, the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves who played at home 128-126. After this game, the Thunder widened the total score of the series to 3-1, and had already won the match point of this round of series; while the Timberwolves would encounter huge trouble, they were already on the edge of the cliff with one foot.

In this game, the Timberwolves' starting lineman Julius Randle's performance was not ideal, and it could even be said to be a mess. Randall played 28 minutes and 09 seconds in the whole game, made 1 of 7 shots, 1 of 3 from outside the three-point line, and 3 of 4 free throws, scoring 5 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal, including 3 frontcourt rebounds, 5 turnovers and 2 fouls, with a plus-minus value of -2. Randall was simply unsatisfied on the offensive end. He had no ability to play his scoring. He also seriously dragged down the team on the offensive end, and he also made a lot of mistakes and wasted a lot of ball rights. Randall's performance on the defensive end is also very average, and he is not able to provide more support and help to the team on the defensive end. As a key figure in the team on the offensive end, Randall should have taken on a more important role on the offensive end and should have received more points, but he did not do this at all, which largely led to the team's defeat. If Randall performs a little better, the situation in the game may change dramatically.

In the NBA regular season this season, Randall made a total of 69 appearances in 82 games, averaging 32.3 minutes per game, averaging 18.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks, and 2.8 turnovers and 2.5 fouls. He shot 48.5%, three-point shooting percentage 34.4%, and free throw shooting percentage 80.6%. In the playoffs, Randall has been playing time in the first 14 games so far, with averaging 21.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.1 blocks. He also had 3.2 turnovers and 3.1 fouls. His shooting percentage was 49.8%, three-point shooting percentage was 36.1%, and free throw shooting percentage was 88.6%.

Randle's performance during this season's playoffs was of course very outstanding. He showed comprehensive scoring ability on the offensive end, his contribution was very stable, his passing ability and support ability are worthy of recognition, he can play a decisive role on the offensive end, and he simply beat the defenses of the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers in the previous two rounds of the series. As a result, in this round of the series, Randall's performance also experienced obvious struggles and ups and downs, and he really couldn't play his value in higher-intensity games. I wonder what will happen to Randle's performance in the next game, and can he complete a strong rebound?
