2 years of 132 million super top contract! Bobby Marks: The Rockets pursuit of KD is more than just trading chips

On May 26, according to NBA salary expert Bobby Marks and Rockets reporter Kelly Iko, the Rockets management's interest in getting Suns forward Kevin Durant is gradually disappearing. On the one hand, there are Bucks forward Antetokounmpo, Hawks defender Trae Young, and 76ers forward Paul George in the trading market. On the other hand, after the Rockets traded to 36-year-old Kevin Durant, he will still have to consider his contract renewal this summer. This summer, Kevin Durant can get a maximum salary contract worth 2 years and $132 million, and the 38-year-old Kevin Durant will receive an annual salary of 70 million. Once the latter has injury problems, it will be a fatal blow to the team.

Last summer, the Rockets moved from the Nets to the first round of the Suns in 25, 27 and 29 years. Bobby Marks pointed out that interestingly, the Rockets also have the Nets' first round swap rights for 28 years, and the Nets have the Suns' first round swap rights for 28 years. Bobby Marks believes that at a certain point in the future, the Nets may complete a transaction with the Rockets, using the Suns' 28-year swap rights to their own 28-year swap rights. And, the Rockets may get additional assets in this deal. Of course, the node where this transaction occurs may be 1-2 seasons later.

For the Rockets, the price of the Rockets pursuing Durant this summer is far more than the current trading chips, as well as the risk of Durant's future high salary and high age. According to Rockets reporter Kelly Iko, the Rockets management is preparing to get a star this summer, and it is obvious that they are very interested in Antetokounmpo. The latter is only 31 years old and has been selected as the Best Team in the past seven years. The Suns' first round picks may be sent to the Bucks, and the Bucks will trade them for their first round picks and send these Suns' draft picks to the Pelicans and the Trail Blazers.
