On Saturday local time, Liverpool Club issued an announcement on its official website stating: "Liverpool Club confirmed that Heatinga will leave the club and serve as Ajax head coach. The 41-year-old former player previously served as Slot's assistant coach and left after working for a year behind Liverpool. He is now the head coach of Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie.
