June 17th In the first round of the Club World Cup group stage, Inter Milan will play against Mexican team Monterrey. Before the game, Inter defender De Vry accepted an interview with the media.

What is the current preparations? How is the experience going?

"I just arrived shortly after I was in the national team. We are trying to put the final (loss) behind us. We look forward, full of energy, and eager to start the event."

What impressed you the most?

"He was very decisive, knew what he wanted, and conveyed his ideas and principles to us. We played together for many years, and although I was here for a short time, I had a great impression."

Where can I get the energy to start such an important event?

"I am full of energy and I have seen a positive attitude in the team and training. Everyone is very eager to work and start the event at the best condition. I am full of confidence."

Have you summed up the defeat in the Champions League final?

"It was a tragic defeat, but we should not forget the entire journey and this season: we have not won any trophy so far, but there are still many positive moments in it. Now, we hope to get back on the victory track."

What are you looking forward to the start of the Club World Cup?

"We are a team with extremely rich experience. Perhaps our opponents are a little unfamiliar to us, and this event is also a bit different from what we usually participate in. But the important thing is to play the group stage well and qualify smoothly."

How do you view the newly joined players?

"They made a great impression. Luis Enrique is a high-level player: fast speed, good at dribbling, good skills. He will help us. The same is true for Susic: I have seen him in the national team. He is an excellent player with excellent footwork, skills and steals. They are all great signings, excellent boys, and will help us."

You will play against Monterrey, can you talk about their threats?

"They are very strong and have players we are familiar with, such as Ramos, Corona, Ocampos, and Canales who have played in Europe. Their offense is very direct, but we are preparing for the game seriously."

Zivo was a great defender in his player age. To what extent can this help your defense line?

"The head coach played fullback and central defender, and he was a very powerful player: he would teach us a lot."
