August 6th News Recently, Tottenham Chairman Levi personally took Gary Neville to visit Tottenham's home court in the program The Overlap broadcast on Skybet. The Sun used this article to introduce Tottenham's stadium facilities.
During Neville's visit to the stadium, he realized how hands-on approach Levi has taken in the project. As he stood in the South stands with a capacity of 17,500 spectators, Neville couldn't help but ask Levi mischievously, in hindsight, if there was anything Levi wanted to do differently. Levi, 63, smiled and said, "I hope there are a few pillars that don't exist now. It will be a little narrow when you drive below the stadium."
Spurs' home court is not only for football. Since its opening, the venue has also been used to host NFL games, football games and several concerts, including concerts by Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga.
When asked how the surface of the field “changes” according to different events, Levi revealed: “Below all the protective measures on the court are actually the NFL stadium.
” There is an artificial stadium there. Above this is the Grass Field, and when we are in concert mode or NFL mode, the Grass Field receives under the South Stand.
"It can stay there for 10 to 14 days. It has ventilation, irrigation and dedicated lawn mowers - so it is a very unique facility."
In addition to the NFL, Tottenham has also established a partnership with F1. Below the South stands is an F1 brand kart track. This clever design has become a popular spot in London. "When the grassy court is above, under the south stands is the kart track, which can be used for karting competitions," said Levi. Spurs has the largest club store in Europe, covering an area of 23,000 square feet.
is a 400-year-old protected building inside, which the club has restored and transformed into an art gallery.
Levi took Neville to visit and said, "There is a very old building called Warmington Manor, which is about 400 years old. Yes, it is listed on the list of conservation."
"We have to keep it, we repaired it... Now it is an art gallery. It is a beautiful building, and we have completely repaired it."
Neville was amazed by the building, and he replied, "It's great. I love the fusion of ancient bricks and modern glass appearance."
At the beginning of Neville's visit, Levi proudly showed a connection to Tottenham's history. Levi said, "Do you know this floor? It's from the old court." As Neville exclaimed, "Wow," Levi continued, "It's all crushed. We want to keep the connection with Old White Hart Lane and history. This is literally crushed concrete and then level it."
In the South Stand Hall, there is also a nameplate on the floor marking the location of the center point of Old White Hart Lane. The 17,500-seat South Stand is the most prominent landmark at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Levi is very proud of the uniqueness of Tottenham's home court, but he does attribute the credit for this excellent single-story stand to another club.
Speaking of the inspiration for the new stadium, Levi said: "I wouldn't say we referenced a stadium and said 'We need it like this'.' "I think the yellow walls of Dortmund were inspiring to our South stands. This is where our South Stand concept comes from. ”
The dressing rooms on the new court are spacious, luxurious and modern compared to the more traditional dressing rooms in White Hart Lane. Neville exclaimed: “I always surprise the dressing rooms now, they are amazing. "Wow. I still remember the locker room at Old White Hart Lane." When Levi said the new locker room was "a little different" from the old one, Neville smiled and said, "Just a little bit!?" The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium also has a huge NFL locker room inside. Due to the large NFL team roster, these locker rooms are much larger than football locker rooms, which comes in handy during the pandemic and provides players with opportunities to maintain social distancing on game days.
Tottenham worked with Molson Coors last month to confirm that the menu for home games next season will include Coors, Madri, Rekorderlig and Cobra, as well as Pravha. Fans can still buy Beavertown products specially brewed on site. While presenting Neville with the microbrewery located between the South and East Stands, Levi explained: “We are very focused on interacting with the local community. “One of our ideas was to launch craft beer, so we worked with Beavertown, a local craft beer company. "We then told them that we wanted to brew our own beer in the stadium. So this is our brewery, a joint venture with Beavertown."
When Neville asked whether Tottenham had acquired Beavertown, Levi said, "It's a pity... we didn't." Both of them laughed and Levi added, "But in terms of all the beer sold in the stadium, we had a joint venture."
