Antetokounmpo posted on social media on Tuesday morning, responding to the crazy start of the 2025 NBA free agent market, especially to a busy news cycle of the Bucks.
Antetokounmpo posted a screenshot of former teammate Lopez at the Bucks' 2021 NBA championship celebration, with the caption "Man, I don't know what's going on now." Antetokounmpo then posted "Mood 100" in the screenshot.
Free player market has opened. There was news on Monday night in US time that Bucks center Lopez agreed to join the Los Angeles Clippers as a free agent. The contract is worth $18 million. He initially signed a one-year, $3.38 million contract with the Bucks in 2018, and then played for seven seasons with the Bucks.
Just shortly after Antetokounmpo posted on social media, Shams Charania, an authoritative expert at ESPN, reported that the Bucks cut superstar point guard Lillard based on an extension clause in the NBA collective bargaining agreement, which would invalidate the last two years of the Lillard contract and allow the Bucks to share the remaining $113 million salary cap over the next five seasons.
Just minutes after the Bucks agreed to sign a four-year, $107 million contract with Indiana Pacers Turner, the Bucks announced the news. It is not clear whether Antetokounmpo knew that Lillard had been terminated before the news was posted on social media.
