James is in a ban on drugs again! Former NBA player reveals: He uses growth hormone + and avoids investigation due to injury

On July 24, the NBA entered the offseason. In a podcast, former NBA star Jeff Teague broke a big news, saying that James was injecting human growth hormone (HGH) during the Heat, and this remark quickly caused an uproar.

In the show, Teague said without any concealment that James used human growth hormone during the Heat, and said: "Later the league began to detect HGH (human growth hormone), and he had to miss the game. He said that he had a pain in his back and rested for three weeks. Then he lost a lot of weight when he came back."

HGH, namely Human Growth Hormone, is a hormone naturally secreted by the anterior pituitary lobe of the human brain, which plays a key role in body growth, cell repair and metabolism. In medicine, HGH is used to treat diseases such as growth hormone deficiency, but in the sports world, it is listed as a banned substance because it can significantly improve athletes' resilience and physical performance. After reaching a new labor-management agreement with the Players' Union in 2011, the NBA officially introduced the HGH testing mechanism. This test measures the HGH level in athletes through blood sample analysis, which includes techniques such as radioimmunoassay (RIA) and chemiluminescence analysis. The introduction of detection mechanisms is intended to ensure fairness of the competition and prevent athletes from gaining an improper competitive advantage through the use of prohibited substances.

It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time James has been caught in such a storm. As early as March 2023, former MMA athlete Chael Sonnen publicly accused James of using EPO (erythropoietin) to improve his athletic performance. The famous commentator Ric Bucher also revealed on the podcast "The Dreamerspro Show" that NBA players, coaches and staff generally suspected that James had been using drug stimulants for a long time, and even said that he had taken these drugs for more than 15 years.
