According to Nico Martinez, a contributor to US sports media F/W. Halliburton looked at the crowd at the Gambridge Arena tonight with a smile on his face. The All-Star guard has a lot to say about his team’s efforts and the upcoming game after a big win for the Indiana Pacers. “I felt like I was disappointing the team in Game 3, so it was important for me to be here and play hard. The guys put me in a very comfortable position and I just wanted to play my game,” Halliburton said. "It was a huge victory for us." Halliburton's father returned to the court tonight after a brief suspension. He was banned from watching the game for an argument with Antetokounmpo, but he was back to the game tonight, which was enough to cheer for one of his son’s best in his young career. "I'm glad my dad was on the scene, which made the game even sweeter. It had something to do with him," Harry said after the win.
Luckily, unlike Game 3, when the Pacers gave up their double-digit lead and lost, John saw his son’s team expand their series lead to 3-1, overcoming the NBA’s most popular team. If they win Game 5 on Thursday, the Pacers will make their finals for the first time since 2000. "I'm excited about it. It's going to be fun, it's a compact game environment," Halliburton said. "We have to be prepared. It's another game. Draw from it, better make up for what we lack tonight, and prepare for the 5th game, hoping to end the series in the game."
Halliburton led the Pacers to score 43 points in the first quarter, early in the lead, and they kept the lead throughout the game. The young superstar made history, becoming the first player to score 30 points, 12 rebounds and 15 assists without turnovers in the playoffs. It’s no surprise that the Pacers have been in control of the pace for most of the game, and they made the Knicks totally unable to find a response.
With Halliburton, Siakam, Turner and Mathurin, the Pacers found an elite roster and head coach Carlisle found a way to inspire the best level of all players. They made it to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second consecutive year and now they are only one win away from the NBA Finals. Nevertheless, the Pacers can’t relax until they get their final victory. Back at Madison Square Garden for Game 5, New York will get energy from their fans to help them win and extend the series. To get the job done early, the Pacers must provide perfect execution, and Halliburton fulfills his role as a leader both on and off the court.
For the Pacers, the victory balance is more inclined to Indiana. If he and his team can win the fifth series in Madison Square, he will once again create a new history that belongs to him. What do you think?
