Guangdong Men’s Basketball Official Announcement: Welcome McCall, Quinn and Sullinger to join the team for the new season

On November 16, the Guangdong Men’s Basketball Team officially issued a statement welcoming Tajer McCall, Trevelin Quinn, and Jared Sullinger to join the team. The full text is as follows:

Recently, our club and foreign aid Tajer McCall, Trevelin Quinn, and Jared Sullinger reached an agreement on joining matters. After the registration materials are submitted to the CBA company and reviewed and publicized, they will represent the Guangdong East Sunshine Team in the new season CBA League.

Tajer McCall was born in the United States on August 17, 1994. He is 193cm tall and is a combo guard with excellent athletic ability and both offense and defense.

McCall has played for the NBA Development League teams affiliated with the Nets, Hawks, and Magic. During the 2020-21 season with the Lakeland Magic, his comprehensive performance averaging 11.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game helped the team win the NBAG League championship and was selected to the "All Defensive Team".

In recent years, McCall has gained rich overseas practical experience in leagues such as France, Australia, and Israel. Starting from the 2021-22 season, he will represent the Cairns Taipan Snakes in the Australian NBL League. In the 2023-24 season, he averaged 17 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.9 steals per game.

Last season, McCall landed in the CBA and played in 16 games on behalf of the Long-Lions men's basketball team. He efficiently averaged 22.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5 assists and 2.1 steals in 28.6 minutes per game. He also averaged 10.2 free throw opportunities per game with his keen defensive reading and impact. At the end of the season, the club acquired the right of first refusal to renew the contract.

Trevilyn Quinn was born in the United States on February 25, 1997. He is 196cm tall and is a forward and defensive swingman. He has outstanding physical fitness and diverse offensive methods. He can not only finish at the basket with speed and impact in fast breaks, but also tear apart the defense with the ball in positional battles. He also has good shooting ability and passing vision. On the defensive end, his speed and confrontation are also quite oppressive, ranking fourth in the history of the NBA Development League G League with 3.52 steals per 36 minutes.

Quinn has played for the NBA Rockets, 76ers, Pacers and Magic. In the 2021-22 season, Quinn played in the G League on behalf of the Rockets' Development League team. He averaged 25.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 3.3 steals per game in the regular season, and averaged 26.3 points per game in the playoffs. With a dominant performance of 7.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.5 steals, he led the team to win the championship. He was awarded the "double MVP" of the regular season and the finals, and was selected to the "All-NBA First Team" and became the "steals king" of the season.

In 2023, Quinn joined the Magic. Averaged 20+ per game for two consecutive seasons in the Magic's Development League team. In the 2024-25 season, Quinn played 31 NBA regular season games on behalf of the Magic, averaging 4.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1 steal in 13.9 minutes per game. On April 11, 2025, he scored 25 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in the Magic's victory over the Pacers. He made 5 of 6 three-pointers, with a shooting percentage of 83.3%.

Jared Sullinger, born in the United States on March 4, 1992, is 206cm tall and plays the role of power forward/center. He has outstanding frame protection ability and excellent ball-handling offense. He can become a reliable choice for the team's offense in fierce confrontations with his good physical fitness, solid basket skills and peripheral shooting ability.

Sullinger was selected by the Boston Celtics with the 21st overall pick in the first round of the 2012 NBA Draft and has played for the Celtics and Raptors. In 2017, Sullinger joined Shenzhen New Century to start his CBA career. In his third game, he scored 55 points and 18 rebounds, and even grabbed 31 rebounds in a single game. In the first regular season, he averaged 39.9 minutes per game, scoring 30.4 points, 16.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks, becoming the "rebounding king" of the CBA League that season.

In the 2020-21 season, Salinger joined the Anyang KGC team of the Korean KBL League, led the team to win the championship and was awarded the "Finals MVP". In the 2021-22 season, Salinger returned to the Shenzhen team and was elected as the "Best International Player" for the week and month many times. In the 2023-24 season, he won the "Best International Player" in the regular season and was selected into the "Best International Player Team". Last season, Sullinger joined the Beijing Enterprises Men's Basketball Team and started 39 games in the regular season. He averaged 18.6 points, 13 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.5 steals in 32.7 minutes per game. He ranked second among all players in the league in rebounds per game.
