ESPN also made a fool of itself, allowing the Rockets to chase 22+4 veterans, and give the wing tough guy + No. 10 pick?

As draft day approaches, each team is organizing their chips and assets, and planning a deal next week to make the lineup more balanced and reasonable as much as possible. So during the long offseason, the media and reporters couldn't rest. They would come up with a trading plan as long as they had the opportunity. It seemed to be a plan, but it was more important to attract traffic and increase attention.

As expected, professional media ESPN has also made a stupid deal in the past two days. Judging from the specific plan, they have asked the Rockets to pursue Kings veteran Demar DeRozan and enhance their offensive power from the outside. The key ESPN plan is to let the Rockets send away the wing tough guy Dillon Brooks, plus the No. 10 pick in the first round of this year, this chip is too luxurious.

If we only look at the data, Demar DeRozan averaged 22.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 0.8 steals per game this season. As a permanent All-Star, he is still still strong. From the playoffs, the Rockets can see that the offensive output is really lacking. If Demar DeRozan can join, it can indeed help the Rockets very well, at least it is much more reliable than Jaylen Green.

However, the problem also exists. If you can win Demar DeRozan at a very low price, you should naturally try your best to fight for it. The Rockets' lower limit is no longer low now, so they should be able to easily enter the playoffs. What needs to be mentioned is the upper limit. Demar DeRozan, as the core, seems unsatisfactory. Especially after he left the Raptors, he only played in the playoffs twice in total, and was eliminated in the first round, which shows that his ability to lead the team is very average. What's more, Demar DeRozan is 36 years old this summer. He still needs the ball rights very much. Judging from the tacit understanding and chemical reaction, he may not be able to perfectly integrate with this group of Rockets players. Demar DeRozan is obviously not the most reliable target for signing.

What's more, this transaction planned by ESPN is really outrageous. Dillon Brooks' importance to the Rockets is almost irreplaceable. Although he can only score 14 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, he is a wing player with both offense and defense. He always maintains toughness and vitality on the court, and has also thrown nearly 40% of his three-point shooting percentage this season. Moreover, Dillon Brooks can fight tough battles. In the Rockets coaching team, especially Amy Udoka's defensive system, he occupies a very important part of the defense system, and can even switch to defend against opponents at multiple positions, which is something Demar DeRozan does not have. Not to mention that there is another No. 10 pick. Even if the Rockets accumulate some assets, they should invest it in practice instead of being the sucker.
