According to news revealed by reporter Marc J. Spears on the live broadcast, Timberwolves star Edwards was not involved in the team's process of persuading Durant to join the team.
Marc J. Spears said: "I talked to some people close to Edwards, and this is not news at all. He is currently training in Atlanta, and he likes his former teammates and now. Some people familiar with the matter said that he is focusing on the team's next plan and has not flew to Los Angeles to try to convince Durant to change any ideas."
Previously, it was reported that the Suns regarded the Timberwolves as the ideal offer party in Durant's trade. Sources revealed that the offer was 4 for 1, and the Timberwolves was willing to give Gobert, Divinchenzo, the No. 17 draw and a young player (one of Dillingham and Shannon Jr.).
This season, Durant averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.2 blocks per game. He is currently entering the final year of a four-year, $194 million contract, with Durant's salary in the 2025-2026 season.
