After being traded by the Mavericks to the Lakers, Doncic played 28 regular season games, averaging 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game; in the playoffs, Doncic made 5 appearances, averaging 30.2 points, 7 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1 steal per game. Doncic's existing contract expires in 2027, of which about $46 million is the 2025-26 season, and the 2026-27 season is a player option worth $48.97 million.

This year's Men's Basketball European Championships are jointly organized by Cyprus, Finland, Poland and Latvia, and will be held from August 27 to September 14.
