Hupu September 2nd: German national team central defender Jonathan Ta was shocked by the turbulent period his old club Leverkusen is currently experiencing.
The Bayern Munich central defender said at the German national team training base in Helzorgen Olach on Tuesday: "There is no doubt that the quick dismissal of head coach Eric Tenhager is surprising. This surprised everyone, right?"
After coaching the team for only two rounds of the league, Tenhager was dismissed at the speed of light in Leverkusen. Towers transfers from Leverkusen to Bayern Munich this summer. He hopes Leverkusen “can get back to peace, with a lot of changes and turmoil throughout the transfer period – which is normal because they want to reorganize.” The 29-year-old said, “if everyone can focus on playing”, he would be happy. He certainly saw the talent the team has: "They have a very good team, and the new players have top abilities."
This obviously also applies to his new Bayern Munich teammate Nicholas Jackson, who moved from Chelsea to Bayern Munich at the last minute of the transfer window. "We talked a lot. I was so happy to see him coming," Ta said. "I believe we can succeed together."
