The striker is the key! TA: Whether Isaac leaves the team or not, Newcastle will sign at least one player

August 19th August last week, Newcastle signed Jacob Ramsey from Villa and the two were considered upgraded versions of Russells and Sean Longstaff. Theathletic revealed Newcastle’s plans for this week.

Isaac's transfer turmoil continues and is not expected to end before the match against Liverpool next Monday. The 25-year-old striker missed a game against Villa due to injury and has been training alone due to Liverpool's interest. Newcastle executives insisted that Isaac was a non-sale product and said he could reintegrate with the team, although some away fans shouted "just a greedy asshole" at Villa Park Stadium. Newcastle coach Eddie Howe said that "all options" about Isaac's future are still being considered, and the final decision is in the hands of the players themselves.

If Isaac does not leave and Newcastle signs another striker, does it mean that this is a successful transfer window? The answer is yes, even if the whole process is very turbulent. Obviously, both of these things need to be achieved in the next two weeks. Isaac insists on leaving by September 1, while Callum Wilson's replacement has not arrived yet, and Visa's transfer is much more complicated than expected. But if all of this is achieved, Newcastle will undoubtedly be promoted in all positions they hope to strengthen.

Ilanga and Jaf have improved the right winger and right center back positions, two positions that have long been the problem, and they are younger than Almiron and Schal. Ramsdale, 28, is much younger than Dublafka, and although he only came on loan from Southampton, Newcastle retains the buyout clause. If he doesn't perform well, Newcastle won't be tied to a long-term contract and can reevaluate the goalkeeper's plan during the season.

Ramsey is not a one-on-one replacement for Longstaff. The former mainly plays on the left midfielder, while the latter is active on the right. However, Newcastle's new players are more offensive and have greater potential. Given Wilson's departure and Anthony Gordon's recent performance on the front line, Newcastle must sign at least one striker before the transfer window deadline. Will Ausra and Sean Neff are not enough to be regular starters in the Premier League, so there is still work to be done. If Visa or other centers can join, Newcastle will complete some shrewd deals, provided Isaac will eventually stay in the team.

Newcastle is also actively looking for at least one new player, and more, with the focus on signing a forward (and two are needed if Isaac leaves). Visa remains their top choice, but negotiations are very complicated and things have hardly changed over the past three weeks. Brentford hopes to find a replacement before letting go of Visa, and although they have signed Ouatara, he appears to be Mbemo's successor.

Newcastle has been waiting patiently because they know Visa is eager to join. The Democratic Congo international did not appear on Brentford’s roster against Nottingham Forest, which is similar to what Isaac is like, but they can’t wait indefinitely. Previously, the two clubs had big differences in valuations, and Newcastle would not pay too much for a 28-year-old player, although Howe appreciated Visa very much. Due to the difficulty of reaching an agreement, Newcastle continues to actively examine other options, and they are introducing Jorgen Strand Larson through negotiations. Paris Saint-Germain's Gonzalo Ramos was also mentioned, but due to potential transfer fees and his current salary, the deal is unlikely unless Isaac leaves. Oromodion of Porto has also been discussed, but he will also be expensive. Watkins is another player Howe likes, but Newcastle has helped Villa's financial position by signing Ramsey, and they are unlikely to further help their direct competitors, especially given the high cost of the 29-year-old England striker.

In the midfield, Newcastle inspected Inter Milan's Flatesi, but after signing Ramsey, the transfer became extremely unlikely. The club will focus all its energy on the center market, where high-quality players are scarce, expensive and highly competitive.

As the transfer window comes to an end, some marginal players may be sold or rented out. For example, Captain Russells' future is uncertain, who missed the entire season with a cruciate ligament injury, with only the last year left in his contract. After Jaf joined, he has become the fifth central defender, and the possibility of leaving the team has not been ruled out. Newcastle will not stop full-back Matt Target or Harrison Ashby from leaving. As Isaac's case shows, Newcastle can't be taken lightly, but they are determined to keep other important players like Tonali, Guimaraes, Gordon and Liframento.
