Hupu, August 9th, according to reporter Noelia Gomez Mira, Real Madrid has reached an agreement with 20-year-old Izan Almanza to sign a four-year contract. The club allegedly plans to allow Almansa to join the first team immediately and will not loan him to other teams.
Almansa was originally a highly-watched potential rookie in the 2025 NBA draft, but was ultimately not selected. He represented the Philadelphia 76ers in this year's NBA Summer League, averaging 13 minutes per game, contributing 3.8 points and 2 rebounds.
It is worth mentioning that Almansa was a member of Real Madrid's youth training system in his early years. In 2021, he went to the United States to join OvertimeElite Academy, and then played for the NBA Development League Ignite team in the 2023-24 season. During this period, he averaged 10.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, with a shooting percentage of 54.3%.
