Manchester United will hold a training ground barbecue if they win the championship: Farewell to the public bus parade

If United beat Tottenham Hotspur to win this week's Europa League final, the club plans to celebrate in a low-key way - rather than holding an open bus cruise like other teams do. According to the Times, Manchester United will hold a barbecue party for players and staff at the Carrington training base to commemorate Ruben Amorin's first trophy since coaching.

Due to the tight schedule, even if they win the championship, they don’t have much time to celebrate large-scale celebrations. According to the plan, within a few days after the Europa League final, the team will set off for Asia to participate in pre-season friendly matches in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. Before that, they will face Aston Villa on the last match day of the Premier League.

Therefore, this small barbecue party will become the main form of internal celebrations in Manchester United, with players and their families invited to attend.

Since Sir Ferguson led his team to win the Premier League title in 2013, Manchester United has not held any open championship parade. Even when Mourinho led the team to the Europa League in 2017, or when he won the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup during his coaching period, the club did not organize similar activities.

By contrast, Newcastle held a grand celebration in the heart of Newcastle this season after winning the Carabao Cup to mark the team's first trophy in years. Liverpool also plans to hold a parade in the city the day after raising the trophy at Anfield on May 26 to celebrate their second major title in nearly 35 years.

If Tottenham Hotspur beat Manchester United in Bilbao and win the UEFA Cup, it will be the club's first important trophy since 2008, and North London is expected to organize a grand street celebration.

Meanwhile, according to the BBC, Manchester United players can only get two Europa League final tickets as free quotas, while club staff reportedly will not receive a free ticket for this game. This decision also reflects the club's current cautious attitude in finance and resource allocation.
