May 14th, Manchester United announced on the club's official website that the team's U18 coach Adam Lawrence will leave after the end of this season.

Adam Lawrence originally joined Manchester United in 2021 and served as the U16 head coach. He has led the U18 to outstanding results over the past two years and has always focused on the personal development of each player.

In the 2023/24 season, Manchester United won three trophies, and although the same success was not replicated this season, the gap was very small. For any youth training coach, grades are only part of it, and those unknown efforts in daily work are the key to truly shaping a football player. Since Adam was engaged in youth training, seven youth training players have appeared on the first team.

Youth Training Director Nick Cox said: "Adam has made great contributions to the club over the past four years, and his passion for helping young players realize their potential has played an important role in our youth training system. We are very proud to support and witness the development of our staff. Adam is a great example of his success from U16 to U18 and is ready to face new challenges."

Adam Lawrence said: "It is an honor to work for Manchester United, with this team." The years we have spent in the team are very special. I have been honored to coach many of the current U18 players since U16 and have witnessed their growth. The staff at all stages of career have put in a lot of effort to support the players in the past two years. "

"We are proud of our emphasis on the style of the game, personal development and youth training camp culture. I am now ready to face new challenges, but I will always cherish the memories in this great club and look forward to seeing these players Future. ”

In the last game, Lawrence's U18 defeated Sunderland 3-1 at home. Although they were behind for a while and lost one person due to injury, they eventually reversed and won. Lawrence recalled: "This game contained all the elements, Sunderland performed better at the beginning, but as the game progressed, we gradually controlled the situation. We persisted for 20 minutes with one less, the weather was hot and the opponent was strong, but we scored, which was for the players. A very good learning opportunity."

Although this game will not directly affect Manchester United's ranking in the league, Lawrence is satisfied with the players' performance: "This desire to win is deeply rooted in their hearts, rather than being able to switch it at will like a faucet. But if they can perform well in this situation, it means that their personality is very tough. We are not only paying attention to the team, but also the development of each player, and we are doing a good job in this regard at present."
