Leverkusen fired Tenghag! He has been unemployed after only 62 days of traveling to the Bundesliga, and this time he is still the robber

Eric Tenhager's coaching career at Leverkusen was over in just two league games and it ended - the Bundesliga club decided to fire the Dutch coach, who led the team to play in the two Bundesliga games after taking office this summer.
Tenhager coached for the first time after being fired by Manchester United, but the term of office for this job is fleeting. He led the team to lose to Hoffenheim in the opening match of the Bundesliga and was tied by Werder Bremen on the weekend; in addition, during the preseason, the team was in a sluggish state due to the departure of several core players, and the club's management finally chose to change coaches.
The former Ajax coach wanted to regain his reputation in Germany: although he led the team to win the first round of the German Cup, the Bundesliga's first two rounds of the Bundesliga only received one point (6 points out) and was unsatisfactory. What's even more fatal is that when facing Bremen with 10 players on the weekend, Leverkusen was chased twice in a row while leading 3-1, losing a good game. Although Tenghager has not had enough time to implement his tactical philosophy, he still cannot escape the fate of being dismissed.
Leverkusen said in a statement: "Leverkusen has terminated the contract with head coach Eric Tenhager. The decision was made by the shareholders' committee of the club's supervisory body based on management's recommendations. The current coaching staff is temporarily taken over the training work."
captain Robert Andrich admitted after being tied by Bremen: "When we led 3-1 and hit one more player, we should have scored three points. After the opponent was sent off, we were too impatient and made too many mistakes. The team must be regained immediately, otherwise we will not win any games." The collapse of the weekend made Leverkusen's management lose trust in Tenhager - this was seen as a key signal of dismissal. This summer, after Xavi Alonso, who led the team to a huge success, switched to Real Madrid, Leverkusen had to look for a new coach again.
This summer, Leverkusen sent away core players such as Jeremy Flynnon, Granit Zachar, and Florian Werz. Although he recovered huge amounts of funds, it caused the team's strength to decline. Tenhager eventually became the "burden" for this consequence.
This is undoubtedly another heavy blow to the former Manchester United coach. His coaching career at Manchester United also ended in a bleak situation: after leading the team to win the FA Cup in 2024, he received controversial support from the club, but soon the Ineos management realized that it was necessary to change the coach and eventually fired him in October last year.
Tenhager's transfer operation has also been criticized: he spent more than 600 million pounds at Manchester United to introduce Anthony, Rasmus Hoylund, Andre Onana and others. These players did not meet expectations, and many of them have been included in the club's cleaning list.
