July 15th German media Sport.de reported that Dortmund captain Emre Jan may have missed the team's pre-season preparations due to injury.

When most Dortmund stars are still enjoying the holidays, captain Emre Jan is working hard to make a comeback, but it seems that the veteran can prepare for the pre-season on July 26 as planned.

About a month ago, Dortmund officially announced that Emre Jan would miss the Club World Cup, and the club statement explained that the 31-year-old's adductor injury has not yet fully recovered. Coach Niko Kovac said at the time: "He will stay in Dortmund to complete his recovery and ensure that he can return to the team immediately when the Bundesliga preparations begin."

But the reality is that as the preparation date on July 26 approaches, there is still uncertainty about whether Emre James can return to the team as scheduled. According to another German media, Biography, the player's injury recovery progress did not meet expectations, and the German international may need longer rest than expected.

It is reported that the Dortmund medical team is closely monitoring Zhan’s recovery. Regarding whether he can participate in the first training session on the 26th, the club will decide based on the final evaluation results.

In the sprint stage last season, Emre Jan insisted on fighting with injuries and gritted his teeth and fought for the team to achieve the team's Champions League qualification goal. Now the midfielder has to pay the price for over-stretched muscles, and the injury requires a longer recovery cycle. According to the plan, Dortmund will play its first preseason game on July 30, and then go to Austria to hold a training camp from August 4 to 9.
