British media: Rogers may go to Saudi Arabia to coach, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Fulham are also potential suitors

24 hours after losing 3-1 to Hearts in the league. At the time of his departure, Celtic were second in the table, eight points behind leaders Hearts.

Rogers' departure caused dissatisfaction among the club's top brass, with CEO Dermot Desmond severely criticizing Rogers. Desmond accused Rodgers of comparing the team to a Honda Civic but expecting it to perform like a Ferrari.

Currently, the Celtics have appointed former head coach Martin O'Neill to take over the team on an interim basis, with Sean Maloney serving as assistant coach. For Rodgers, he has been linked with a number of Premier League teams, including Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Fulham, whose managers are all out of contract at the end of the season. However, with Rodgers leaving the Celtics early, he may consider moving to other teams immediately.

talkSPORT host Alan Brazil said: "Rogers may be driving a Bentley convertible soon because as far as I know, he is preparing to go to Saudi Arabia. That is the rumor. There are a lot of rumors circulating, but I heard that this may be true. Can he find a top job in England after leaving Celtic? Probably not."

However, another host, Ally McCoist, disagreed. He believes that Rogers is fully capable of returning to the Premier League.

McCoist responded: "He could easily go back to England, Alan, don't be kidding. What's the top job now? Obviously, he won't get a job like Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City or Arsenal, but he still has a chance."

talkSPORT understands that Celtic originally planned to let Rodgers leave at the end of the season, and his early resignation disrupted their succession plan. A number of potential candidates are currently under contract, including former Wales international striker Craig Bellamy and Ipswich Town's Kieran McKenna.

At present, it is unlikely that the Celtics’ former coach Postkoglu will return to the team. Other potential candidates include former Celtic loanee Robbie Keane, who is now the manager of Hungarian champions Ferencvaros.
