Alison: Losing 2-5 to Liverpool for Rome, I was worried that I would not have the chance to join the Reds

June 28th Liverpool Club documentary "Alison: My Story" has now been launched on the AllRedVideo platform, telling the life and career of Reds goalkeeper Alison. The film includes special interviews between the No. 1 player himself, his family and friends, former teammates, current teammates, coaches and other related people.
Goalkeeper tradition...
Allison ends up becoming a goalkeeper and seems to be destined. His family has produced goalkeepers for generations. One of Alison's great-grandfathers was an amateur goalkeeper, his father was a respected goalkeeper, and his mother also served as goalkeeper when she was a student.
Alison said: "Then it was my brother (Murir), I think my brother started because he often watched my father keep the goal. He liked the position very much, and he was quite outstanding, so he started playing for clubs in the area where we live. And I grew up watching my brother play football, and then it was my turn, another goalkeeper in the family."
Alison loves sweet...
When Alison's football talent led him to his career as a teenager, he had to make a small sacrifice: his sweet-loving habit. Chocolate cookies and brigadeiro (a traditional Brazilian dessert) were his favorites until exercise and fitness had to be a priority.
Alison said: "I fought for this. At first I struggled a little, struggling to make difficult choices to stay healthy and avoid eating these things. At first I was bigger and heavier than other players, which might have been a disadvantage for me at the time."
"But when I was about 16 and everything started to become more professional, I took the responsibility and learned to say 'no' to the good things in my life that were not good for my career, including sweets!"
Alison had been worried about missing out on the chance to join Liverpool...
Alison played for Roma in April 2018 and went to Anfield to compete in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals. At the time, Allison had realized rumors that Liverpool might try to sign him that summer. Therefore, Rome's 2-5 defeat that night not only damaged Rome's chances of advancing to the finals, but also damaged his prospect of becoming a member of the Reds.
Alison said: "There were some rumors about Liverpool being interested in me at that time. There was no exact news, but as a player, you would start to imagine, 'Will there be a giant club coming to me in the summer? Maybe it was an opportunity? So I had to go all out.' Then you lost 2-5 and thought, 'The opportunity is gone!'"
Despite this, Liverpool fans left a very deep impression on Allison, and Allison decided at the time that if Liverpool really made an offer, it would definitely be his favorite club.
Alison said: "The sound of [Anfield] is so loud, it hits my mind, the way the fans push the team forward makes it impossible for us (Roma) to win that night. That feeling is also wonderful, because of the rumors that fans started wanting me to join Liverpool. In the second half, when I switched to the side of the Kop stands, some fans applauded me and I felt like, 'Okay, maybe they want me to join.'"
"That moment was special, and I said, 'If this club came to me, it would definitely be unhesitant to agree.'"
"We are like kids in the candy store"
Just a few months later, Alison's transfer to Liverpool became a reality, and Alison proved that the club made the right decision with just one training.
The then head coach of the Reds Klopp said: "When he arrived, I remember his first training was in Eviñon (France), and he joined our training camp."
"We did a small-scale shooting practice, and after about four or five saves, we were shocked, 'What?!' For example, a shot from the far corner from 10 yards or 12 yards, he just said, 'whoo!' and saved it! 'Oh, can this save? It's great!'"
"We were a little like kids in the candy shop at the time and thought, 'Oh, what baby did we get?!'"
In the Champions League final, Alison felt invincible...
Alison's first season at Liverpool ended with him holding the Champions League trophy high at the Madrid Metropolitan Stadium. Allison is a key figure in the Reds' final journey to the June 2019 with Tottenham. In the final, his form was equally indestructible, and he contributed a series of wonderful saves to help Liverpool win 2-0.
Alison recalled: "I always said, I never want that game to end, but my teammates would say, 'Yeah, but then you can't win the game, you can't get the trophy!' But it's because I enjoyed that game so much, and I had a feeling that I would never lose the ball in that game because of the way the team played, and because of my state. Make saves, get opportunities, create opportunities, the atmosphere of the court, what a wonderful night. I enjoy every minute of that game."
What "You Never Walk Alone" means to him...
Alison said of the song: "I didn't realize the message that the song conveyed at first, but then when I read the lyrics, it was really special."
" The Pool Club, the people around the club, the fans, the club staff, their lifestyle, they live the style of "You Never Walk Alone". They help each other, not just for themselves, but when they sing this song, they sincerely practice it, which makes the song even more special because it is not just a song. "
" I felt this firsthand when I lost my father. This song couldn't be more perfect for me and my family, that is, I will never walk alone, whenever, good times or bad times. This is something you can enjoy for a lifetime."
Incredible celebration...
On May 16, 2021, Alison became the first goalkeeper in Liverpool's history to score goals. And it's not an ordinary goal. In the away game against West Brom, Allison headed the finale in the 95th minute, which was crucial to the Reds' qualifying for the Champions League that season. This happened shortly after Allison's father died suddenly.
Alison's mother Margaret witnessed it at her home in Brazil, and she thought Alison would never have experienced such a moment.
Margarry said: "I always say that the goalkeeper's mother can never celebrate the goal. He can't, the goalkeeper never scores. When the ball hits his head and he heads to the goal, I scream. It's a scream I've never had in my life. Neighbors can hear it, so I don't care! I keep screaming. I even lost my voice."
Alison changed Klopp's mind...
By violating one of Klopp's rules on the way to the game, Alison successfully changed Klopp's mind.
Klopp explained: "A younger me, when we go to the stadium by bus, if someone uses a smartphone, I'll go crazy: 'The game has begun, get ready, focus.'"
"Alison was sitting two rows behind me, and we were about to go to the game, and you heard him giggling on the phone, you'd think, 'What's that?' And Alison was talking to his daughter. 1 hour and 15 minutes before the game, he talked to her in that childish voice that talked to the child."
"I realized that my mind was, 'Well, if Alison felt it was OK, it might be OK. This is what he needed, OK.' From that moment on, I've been much more relaxed at these moments. ”
"Everyone needs his own way. If talking to his family and the babies before the game can help him concentrate, it will be fine for me." ”
The story behind Alisson's name...
Alisson's mother Margaret replied: "I want to name him Ramses, which is a Bible name. But we think Ramses is a strange name for babies, a too strong name." ”
" So I told my mom to call him Alisson Ramses. That's it. (Inspiration) may come from reading, but there is no special story. (It's just) because the name sounds good." ”
