Tyris Halliburton misses his chance to win his first NBA championship ring in June

Terris Halliburton missed the chance to win his first NBA championship ring in June, but he saved the most precious jewels until July. Halliburton, who had not received the precious championship ring, won another most important ring in his life, but the Indiana Pacers star proposed to his long-time girlfriend Jed Jones, and the couple made the announcement in a joint Instagram post on Monday.

Halilburton held the proposal at the Hilton Stadium, home of Iowa State University's Tornado Basketball Team, Gymnastics Team, Volleyball Team and Wrestling Team.

The guard who torn a tendon in the 2025 NBA Finals bent down — with crutches, skateboards and other aids — to ask the question. Behind the couple, a sign reads: "Will you marry me?" and rose petals are scattered on the ground.

The two have been dating since 2019, when they were both studying at Iowa State University.

Halliburton spent two seasons at Iowa State before being selected by the Sacramento Kings with the 12th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Jones was a member of the school's cheerleading team.
