The Hornets will continue to send away the inside star who was returned by the Lakers. Will they replace him with Duke s inside?

The latest article by ClutchPoints reporter Brett Siegel talks about the relevant updates of Charlotte Hornets this summer. In Siegel's view, the Hornets are likely to send off inside player Mark Williams, who was almost sent away by the team before the trade deadline this summer.

Siegel said: The name Mark Williams is still frequently mentioned in various trading discussions in the league. All signs suggest that it may only be a matter of time before the Hornets send him away. As this year's NBA draft approaches, the Hornets are very active in the trading market, which has also triggered a lot of speculation. Multiple sources try to connect these clues, and we can conclude that the Hornets' main goal in the top 10 pick may be Khaman Maluach, a freshman inside star who previously played for Duke University. This can also further deduce a reasonable assumption: in order to make room for Maruachi's arrival, the Hornets are seeking various trading options to send Mark Williams away.

In the NBA regular season this season, Williams played 44 games in total due to injury, averaging 26.6 minutes per game, with averaging 15.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.2 blocks, including 3 frontcourt rebounds, 1.6 turnovers and 2.4 fouls, with a shooting percentage of 60.4%, a three-point shooting percentage of 0%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 80.4%. In the NCAA field this season, Maruac made a total of 39 appearances for Duke, averaging 21.2 minutes per game, with 8.6 points, 6.6 rebounds (2.7 frontcourt rebounds), 0.5 assists, 0.2 steals and 1.3 blocks, 0.8 turnovers and 2.1 fouls, shooting percentage of 71.2% (3.5/4.9), 25% (0.1/0.4) and free throw percentage of 76.6% (1.5/2).

Maruacchi was born in September 2006 and is 18 years old. According to data from the previous joint trial physical test, Maluaqi's bare feet are 215.3cm, his wingspan is 230.5cm, his standing height is 289.6cm, and his weight is 114.7kg. Judging from the current situation, Maruacchi will be selected in the top 10 picks in the next NBA draft, but the Hornets hold the fourth pick in the first round, and using this pick to choose Maruacchi is somewhat of a disadvantage. The Hornets obviously have better choices in this position, and their more reasonable way of operating is to trade downwards in exchange for more future chips. On the other hand, compared to Williams, who has solid inside skills, scoring ability and strong offense ability, Maruach seems a little rough. Can he really carry the Hornets' inside banner?
