The big deal is worth it! The Knicks wingers contributed too much on the defensive end

According to New York Post reporter Jared Schwartz, wing star Mikal Bridges, who joined the New York Knicks from the Brooklyn Nets in a big deal last summer, played a crucial role in the season's playoffs, and his outstanding performance was also the team's ability to play against defending champion Boston Celtics in the second round of the playoffs.

Schwartz said Bridges showed super strong personal defense during the playoffs, and he completed a steal against Jaylen Brown at the critical moment of G1 in the series and held Jayson Tatum's shot at the last moment of G2. These are the key factors in the Knicks' ability to win the series. Schwartz believes Bridges is providing more support to the team on the defensive end in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers, and with his current form, he is fully capable of doing that.

Bridges said in an interview: We still have a lot of tasks to complete, and we are far from reaching the best level, and that's the reality. We performed very hard in previous games and we also achieved quite good results. But the season is not over yet, we still have a lot of energy to provide, and our season is not over. We still have a lot of potential to tap, and we are ready to face all kinds of tests. Next is a brand new series, and we will face different opponents. We are fully capable of doing better in the series.

In this season's NBA regular season, Bridges played all 82 games. During his 37 minutes of playing time, he averaged 17.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.5 blocks, and 1.6 turnovers and 1.5 fouls. His shooting percentage was 50%, three-point shooting percentage was 35.4%, and his free throw shooting percentage was 81.4%. In the playoffs, Bridges averaged 39.8 minutes in the first 12 games, with averaging 15.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.1 blocks, and 1.9 turnovers and 2.1 fouls. He shot 45.1% from the field, 32.8% from three-point shooting percentage and 85.7% from free throws.

Bridges' performance in previous games was indeed quite amazing. His performance on both offense and defense was quite outstanding, especially on the defensive end. His dominance is incredible, which is also an important factor in the team being able to defeat strong opponents and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. His performance is also a big factor in the team paying a high price to get him last summer. I wonder if Bridges will perform better in the next series. Can he lead the team to the finals?
