NBA executive says Kumingga deserves a five-year contract

According to US sports media F/W reporter Chaitanya Dadwar. Rumors of Kumingga's trade have caused a sensation in the decisions of several teams and their rosters. There is reportedly a difference of nearly $5 million to $10 million between what Cumingga wants and the price the Warriors offer him annually. Now an anonymous NBA executive has expressed their views on the matter, who thinks the 22-year-old striker deserves a $25M contract and is a better player than McDaniels.

"McDaniels is excellent in his role, but Kumingga is more talented and if he can pass, he has a higher upside," the anonymous executive said. McDaniels has a 5-year, $131M contract, and he is the ideal comparison for Kuminga. The Timberwolves forward entered the league a year earlier than Cuminga and if his contract could reach $26.2M per year, Cuminga's demands would seem reasonable.

fans were not particularly satisfied with the comments posted anonymously and shared their views on the issue. Some fans think Kumingga is not as competent as McDaniels in his role, while others think it is a strategic move for the Kings so they can get Kumingga at an ideal price. The Kings seem to want to get rid of Monk and sign Kuminga so they can sign Westbrook.

"It's Fred, isn't it?"

"The anonymous executive may be from Sacramento."

"Did this anonymous executive see McDaniels' progress this year? Kuminga is not close to him."

"McDaniels' outstanding performance in his role is the keyword here. Kuminga doesn't seem to want to play the role. He wants to be a star. For most teams, that's his problem now."

"He's not better than McDaniels, but his $25 million a year is actually very fair money."

"Kuminga's agent should have a raise for the spread of rumors."

Kuminga's deal became the biggest topic of the Warriors' offseason. It has been reported that Kumingga and management are no longer in touch during the deadlock about his potential contract renewal. The comparison with McDaniels shows his strengths and weaknesses in the game. For example, from the scoring data alone, Kumingga averaged 12.4 points per game and shot 50% from the field in the regular season. McDaniels averaged only 10 points per game and shot as high as 48%. But in the playoffs, McDaniels was able to show a higher impact on the penalty area than Kuminga. Kumingga played 34 games in the playoffs and averaged just 7.0 points per game, even though one of the seasons was a championship. McDaniels averaged 37 points in 12.0 playoff games for the Timberwolves. The Warriors are a recovery behemoth, while the Timberwolves are young and progressive. Both players have ample opportunities and space to prove that they are the team's well-deserved baton. But it seems that Kumingga is not satisfied with this position or role, and wants to see what options he has outside the Warriors. The 22-year-old restricted free agent will have the opportunity to sign a qualified offer, or the Warriors may acknowledge the contract extension he wants and agree to a signing deal with the Kings or any other team to give them a return on the value close to Kumingga.
