If the Heat chases Durant but fails, it will change its goal. Morant Dero agrees with the core of Plan B

According to US media Hoops Wire, if the Heat fail to get Durant through the trade, the team may turn to Grizzlies point guard Morant or Kings defender DeRozan.

The Heat showed interest in getting Suns star Durant, and Durant himself was willing to play for the Heat. Durant, 36, has one year left in his contract. If he joins Miami, he is willing to sign a contract extension with the Heat.

According to league sources, the Spurs and the Rockets are the other two teams Durant likes, but the Heat and the Rockets have been told that the Spurs are Durant's first choice next home.

It is worth noting that Morant does not want to leave the Grizzlies. On Father's Day, the Grizzlies traded Bain to Magic in exchange for Pope, Cole Anthony, four unprotected first-round picks and one first-round pick to swap rights. But because Morant's contract does not have a trade veto, he cannot control his future. However, sources pointed out that the Grizzlies had no plans to trade Morant after sending Bain away. The situation for

DeRozan is different. Sources say the Kings are open to trading the USC player. DeRozan's salary will be $24.75 million next season, and $25.74 million in the 2026-27 season (the last year of the contract).

After being swept by the Cavaliers in the first round of the playoffs this year, the Heat are seeking to add more talents around Adebayo and Hiro. In February this year, the Heat sent Butler to the Warriors after he applied for a deal. Since 2013, the Heat have not yet won the championship. Butler Times has entered the finals twice (2020 and 2023), but both failed.
