Butler: It s a great thing to be Curry s deputy, and the Warriors win window may be longer than two years

Reporter: You were the core in Miami. After transferring to the Warriors in the middle of the season, you happily said that you could become Curry's "Robin" (Batman's partner). You are not the absolute core here, what kind of adjustments do you need to make? Do you feel like this requires some kind of "self-sacrifice"? After all, you have always been "Jimmy Butler", but you need to reposition in a new environment.

Butler: I think everyone here is selfless, and there are people who are willing to take on different roles every night. I am very satisfied with my positioning. As a player, I know my playing style. When I come here, I know that I am Curry's deputy. This is actually a great thing. After all, he is one of the greatest players of all time and it's refreshing to have the opportunity to be his partner in the next few years. There are also young talents in the team who are eager to make progress, and the overall atmosphere is unprecedentedly high. I think this is the best arrangement.

Reporter: There were previous reports that you might be traded and that the Warriors were one of the potential next players, but at that time you were not sure whether you wanted to join the team. Now as a witness, after fighting side by side with these teammates, you say that you "retrieve the joy of playing basketball." Can you talk in depth about your feelings about joining the Warriors?

Butler: The things reported by the media are all "The husband is right, and the mother is right." After all, I don't accept interviews often, so no one knows the truth. But I feel very lucky to be here in the end. Zhu Meng and Curry called me personally and talked about their future plans. After joining the team, I saw the greatness of this team – everyone wants each other to succeed, whether it is health management or tactical arrangements, working to get players to play at a high level.

And my teammates are all excellent, I enjoy the process of understanding them, as a player, I already know their style of play, but what is more interesting is understanding their inner self, what drives them, their family, and their growth experiences. This is one of the best parts of life – to get to know others from a positive perspective. I am very glad to be here, we quickly run in, I feel comfortable and happy, as my teammates said, I "retrieve happiness."

Reporter: After you joined, the team worked out very smoothly, but many of the adjustments were "improvised" right? After all, you join the team on the road trip, and immediately enter the away game after the All-Star game, and you have almost no time to settle down. There will be a complete offseason and training camp in the future. What height can you reach?

Butler: Indeed, the team was away when I joined, and continued to run after the All-Star game. I didn't even have time to settle down, I didn't have a wardrobe, and I could only wear the same sportswear every day (laughs). But as time goes by, I am more and more adaptable, "comfort" rather than "complacent". Now we have the entire offseason: we can go on vacation together, get the kids together, train together, build deeper chemistry, and then go to training camp and the new season in a completely new state to accomplish our goals.

of course, I will train with Curry, not only him, but also all my teammates. Although I don’t know what everyone’s contract is, they are all my friends. I look forward to getting along with them during the offseason. This will not only deepen our understanding of each other’s style of play, but also enter their lives and know where they come from and what they like to do.

Reporter: The Warriors' system is very unique. What aspects do you plan to focus on improving during the offseason? Will your offseason schedule change?

Butler: All aspects need to be improved, but the most important thing is to "know my partner." If you can let them know outside of basketball that I support them and really get to know them, it will have a huge impact on the court. Because basketball is not only a tactic, but also requires sensing the status of teammates: when something is wrong with them, when they have something to worry about, you need to notice. So my first goal is to get along with my teammates as much as possible and build trust. As for basketball training, it will become simpler.

Reporter: How are your health in the last few games? Is there any injury impact? In addition, after staying in the team for a while, what kind of strengthening do you think the lineup needs? Butler: Everyone will have some minor injuries at the end of the season, but I have no problem and I have enough time to recover now. Regarding the lineup, I'm not very involved in the discussion. No matter what the lineup is, we will do our best. As long as Curry is on the court, I believe we are competitive enough. We are already lucky to be able to play for this team and fight alongside this group of people. No one knows whether the lineup will change next year, but at this moment we just need to focus on competition and cherish every teammate at the moment.

Reporter: Curry mentioned that you, him, the dream-seeking contract and coach Cole's term are still two years. Do you think this is a "two-year championship window"?

Butler: Yes. But if we win, this window may be longer. I think we all have a lot of energy. Age is not a problem. Look at everyone's management and self-discipline of their bodies, the potential is obvious. We will find the answer for the full season to come.
