23 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists! Westbrook dreams of returning to the top, this game! I have to admit 5 facts

9:39pm, 7 November 2025Basketball

On November 6, during the NBA regular season, the Kings faced the Warriors at home. Before this game, the Warriors were ranked 6th in the Western Conference with 5 wins and 3 losses; even before the start of the season, Curry vowed: "We have a chance to win the championship."

To be honest, it may be a little difficult for this Warriors to win the championship. It will be difficult to beat the younger and more energetic teams of the Thunder and Rockets; but they have no problem at all if they want to enter the playoffs. Curry and Butler are still in their prime, and the Warriors also have some promising young players Podemski, Moody, and Kuminga; Kuminga once experienced a storm of leaving the team, but I never expected that he would be in really good shape in the new season, averaging 16 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists per game, and his three-point shooting rate reached 42%.

The Kings on the other side, with 2 wins and 5 losses, ranked third from the bottom in the Western Conference, can be said to be one of the most disappointing teams in the new season. The Kings' book strength is definitely not bad, but there is no coordination between several stars; DeRozan and LaVine each play their own roles, and their own position is not enough. Sabonis's dominance has declined compared with last season, and the Kings have to let Westbrook, who is paid a minimum salary, be the savior; in the last game, Westbrook scored a team-high 26 points.

In this game, the starting lineups of both sides were. The Warriors sent Kuminga, Richard, Post, Podemski, and Moody. Curry and Butler took a back-to-back rest. The Kings sent DeRozan, Westbrook, Eubanks, Clifford, and Schroeder.

At the beginning of the first quarter, the Warriors took the lead in launching the first attack. Moody feinted a shot, hit the inside line, and scored the first goal of the game; Westbrook's fierce three-point shot also opened the door for the Kings. Kuming braked quickly and made a jump shot. In the middle, Eubanks looked back at the moon, and the last reverse layup was the same. Richard and Kuminga shot consecutive three-pointers; DeRozan accelerated along the baseline and scored a hollow shot. Schroeder sprinted in a tornado and scored two points with a lightning layup. Kuminga strode to the basket and scored another goal. Even though the Warriors lacked a core, they had full offensive firepower. They quickly took the initiative in the first quarter and achieved a lead of more than 5 points. At the end of the first quarter, the Warriors led the Kings by 7 points 32-25.

At the beginning of the second quarter, Clifford's three-pointer hit the target and helped the Kings take the lead. Not to be outdone, Moody responded with a three-pointer. Bodemski's three-pointer from the front was hollow and scored. Richard Tuxue grabbed the offensive rebound without a trace and made a strong tip-in. Schroeder faced the basket and hit the basket to cause damage. He stood on the free throw line and made two free throws. Moody scored another goal with a large three-pointer. Unexpectedly, the best player on the Kings side was Westbrook. In the first half, Westbrook scored 13 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists, and also scored 3 three-pointers, leading the Kings to hold on to the score. After half-time, the Warriors led the Kings by 5 points 62-57.

At the beginning of the second half, DeRozan easily succeeded in a smart throw, kicking off the third quarter; Richard made an emergency stop in the middle to respond with a ball, Kuminga had a three-pointer from the bottom corner, and Eubanks turned around and hit the hook steadily. Westbrook once again exerted his strength and scored 4 points in a row with a European step breakthrough and layup. Monk also scored from the mid-range drift. The Kings took the lead in the third quarter. After the three quarters, the Kings led the Warriors by 7 points 92-85.

In the final decisive battle, Davis' performance helped the Warriors retain their last hope, while Clifford's performance helped the Kings secure the lead; at the critical moment, Schroeder's continuous outside fire helped the Kings open the point difference to double digits to seal the victory. Although the Warriors continued to chase points at the last moment, they were unable to recover and had to lose the shot; at the end of the game, the Kings narrowly defeated the Warriors 121-116.

In this battle, I have to admit these five facts.

First, Westbrook is really back at his peak. In this game, he scored 23 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists. He made 9 of 13 field goals. He hit another triple-double after 8 months. He is the only real player in the team. In the last game, he also scored 26 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. It is not an exaggeration to say that he is the strongest player in NBA history with a non-guaranteed veteran minimum salary. Needless to say, Westbrook's performance is absolutely fine with an annual salary of tens of millions. It is a pity that his value has declined in the past few years.

Second, the Warriors really can’t do without Curry. Even if all the role players on the team performed well enough, without Curry handling key balls and solving the game, it is still not easy to win.

Third, although the Warriors lost, there were still bright spots. Richard, who was selected in the second round this summer, scored 30 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in this game, showing his talent. The Warriors have a good eye for selection.

Fourth, Horford should take the blame for this game. Horford only made 0 of 8 three-pointers and scored 0 points and 7 rebounds on 0 of 7 three-pointers. He is still old. There is definitely still oil and water, but his condition is not as stable as before. Of course, it would be good for the Warriors to get Horford. There is really no option for the center position.

Fifth, the Kings are expected to have a chance to make the playoffs this season. If LaVine and Sasha are not available, they can actually win; Westbrook is in such good shape. If they want to hit the playoffs, they may need to try different lineups to find a more reasonable configuration.

Sixth, the Warriors’ young players did their best. In addition to Richard, Kuminga scored 24 points and 9 rebounds, Moody scored 28 points, and Podemski had 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. It must be a good sign for young players to be so vigorous.
