The European team led 3-1 after the first day at Chase Center, San Francisco, but fell back to 3-9 after losing all four matches on the second day. On the third day, when each win counted three points, Alcaraz scored six more points for the European team thanks to two wins in singles and doubles matches. But Jakub Mensik lost to Alex De Minaur, and Alexander Zverev lost to Taylor Fritz, causing Europe to lose 9-15 to World.
With this victory, the World team reclaimed the championship they lost to the European team in Berlin (Germany) last year. Their championship squad is a mix of experience and youth, including: Taylor Fritz, Alex De Minaur, Francisco Cerundolo, Joao Fonseca, Jenson Brooksby and two last-minute additions, Reilly Opelka and Alex Michelsen.

For the first time, legendary Andre Agassi, who replaced John McEnroe as World captain, lifted the cup at this prestigious team event. After eight Laver Cups, the European team won five times. The tournament co-founded by the legendary Roger Federer will be brought back to London, England next year.
Among the players attending the tournament in the US this year, Alcaraz attracted attention when showing off his new blonde hairstyle. "We discussed and gave him the nickname 'Silver Fox'. Actually, it was originally blonde two days ago, but Carlos' hair grew very fast, so now it's silver, " said Alcaraz's teammate on the European Laver Cup team Casper Ruud. "In the next few days, his hair color will be darker, so I think Silver Fox is a suitable nickname for him ".
At the recent US Open, Alcaraz shocked everyone when he entered the tournament with a bald head. The Spanish tennis player explained that his new "look" was due to an accident while asking his brother to cut his hair, so he was forced to shave it all. Leaving the tournament with the cup, Alcaraz continued to surprise fans with his yellow hairstyle.
"He talked and sent me a photo before meeting each other, " said Alexander Zverev. "Looks pretty good! Every time he gets a new head, he wins again. But that's no longer true at the Laver Cup ".

Laver Cup 2025 takes place from September 19 - 21 at Chase Center Multipurpose Arena, home of the Golden State Warriors basketball club in San Francisco, California. Last year, the European team beat the World team with a score of 13-11. World number one Alcaraz played four matches at the tournament, won two doubles matches, one singles match, lost one match to Taylor Fritz on the second match day.
Before entering the matches this season, Alcaraz, Ruud and Zverev had a golf exchange with Roger Federer, one of the founders of the Laver Cup. On the golf course, Alcaraz received advice from the Swiss legend. "He told me to focus on the next five years. When I turned 27, I had to keep thinking about the next five years, " Alcaraz said. "I will try to do as he says ".
