To ensure the Champions League qualification, Guardiola is willing to let the team play conservative football

Manchester City only needs to score 1 point in the last round to ensure their qualifying for the Champions League next season. The team led by Guardiola will challenge Fulham away, which will be played at the Craven Farm Stadium.
Key battle: No loss is allowed
Currently, Manchester City ranks third in the standings, leading competitors such as Newcastle, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest. However, once lost to Fulham, these teams are likely to surpass the Blue Moon and thus deprive them of the chance to participate in the Champions League.
Guardiola made it clear that he was willing to change his football philosophy for the sake of the outcome: "Whether the coach is good depends on the grade - if you lose, your decision is wrong. Whatever plan you make, as long as you win, it is a real good plan."
"If we have to win 1 point in some way, I'm willing to do it. If that means changing the principles, pulling back the defense, waiting for a counterattack, and playing in a different way, then I will do it. I promise you that I will make adjustments."
"As long as I think it's a point or 3 I will do it. We have to respect any changes in the game and do the most right thing in 90 minutes or even 95 minutes."
Responsible for the results, adapt to the flexibility
Guardiola emphasized: "For me, my idea has always been to try to win the game. But if we are not performing well, or our opponents perform well, I will make adjustments. You have to attack, score goals, and win. But if we have to defend throughout 90 minutes to get the results, we will do it too."
The last time Manchester City missed the Champions League was in 2010. They lost to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final this season, and have lost their championship for the first time since 2017.
"After the season, we will evaluate the whole process to see where we can be done more carefully, what decisions need to be re-examined, and how we can do better in the future," Guardiola added.
"If we can enter the Champions League, it will be easier to summarize and plan. Even if we don't qualify, we won't fall. We will keep moving forward and make the necessary decisions. The club will definitely consider the best. I know this season is not ideal - but things can always be worse, right? So now, we have to focus on the game in front of us."
