After Paulini won the first Italian player to leave the women's singles championship in Rome in 40 years, she took advantage of the victory in the women's doubles final the next day. She and veteran Sara Errani retreated to Belgium Mertens/Russia Kudmetova with 6:4 and 7:5. Not only did they come to the goal, but they also set a record for the professional women's network in the past 16 years.

Paulini and his compatriot Ellani were the women's doubles champions of Roma last year. The defending champion passed the game at home in clay this time. Facing the re-partnered Meltens/Kudmetova, they overcame the start of the game 0:4 in two consecutive sets. Finally, after a fierce battle of 1 hour and 45 minutes, they completed the reversal show at the Central Stadium of Piazza Italy.

29-year-old Paulini also added icing on the cake, becoming the first winner of the single and doubles championships in the WTA1000 level competition since Vera Zvonareva of Indian Wells in 2009.

Paulini and Ellani, who are good at clay combat, won the women's doubles gold medal in Roland Garros in the Paris Olympics last year. Now Roma has completed two consecutive dominances and has once again become a popular combination of the French Open Grand Slam, with the two finishing second in the last session.
