Real Madrid striker Mbappe has been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment for gastroenteritis.

The 26-year-old French captain missed the team's training due to a fever on June 17, and did not participate in the FIFA Club World Cup (Club World Cup) against Saudi team Riyadh Crescent, which was held the next day in Miami. The two teams played 1-1 in that game.

Real Madrid announced on the 19th that Mbappe was hospitalized for "acute gastroenteritis", but was confirmed to have been discharged a few hours later. He has returned to his training base in Palm Beach, Florida. The club stated: "Mbappe will continue to receive special treatment and will gradually resume team activities." Real Madrid's next game will face Mexican team Pachuca in the early morning of June 23.

Gastric enteritis is an intestinal infection that can cause vomiting and diarrhea.

If Mbappe does not recover in time to play Pachuca, he may return in the last group match between Real Madrid and Red Bull Salzburg on June 26.

After Mbappe's free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid, he made 56 appearances in various competitions in his first season and scored 43 goals.

This is Real Madrid's first participation under the leadership of young coach Xavi Alonso. Alonso succeeds Carlo Ancelotti as head coach after the end of the La Liga.

Mbappe won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup in his first season in Spanish football.
