Barcelona renews contract with coach Flick until 2027

Xinhua News Agency, Madrid, May 21 (Xie Yuzhi) Spanish football club Barcelona announced on the 21st that it would renew its contract with German coach Hans Flick until 2027.

The contract between Barcelona and Flick was originally due to expire in the summer of 2026. But over the past season, the team's board of directors has been very satisfied with Flick's coaching performance. The two sides reached an agreement on the 21st to extend their contract by one season until June 30, 2027.
Flick achieved considerable results in his first year in coaching Barcelona, leading the team to win the championship in the Spanish Super Cup, the Spanish Copa del Rey and La Liga, and went all the way to the Champions League semi-finals in the European arena. On the other hand, the team performed well in a direct dialogue with old rival Real Madrid, winning all four "national derbys".
