New players in the backcourt: The Celtics have been instilling in me with defensive principles, they are really different

The Boston Celtics conducted daily training during training camp. During the team's new backcourt Anfernee Simons was interviewed by a sideline reporter. In the interview, he also talked about his feelings after joining the new team, his views on Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla and his relevant situation in the team's training camp.
When talking about how I feel after joining the new team, Simmons said: Since I first came to the Celtics a month ago, the team has been instilling the Celtics' defensive principles in me. I can already feel the difference between the Celtics and other teams in terms of stadium awareness and mentality of each round. Speaking of Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla, Simmons said: He doesn't want me to call him coach. We were together for a long time this summer and I can’t describe what this relationship looks like, and it feels like he is my mentor and he gives me a lot of valuable advice. Speaking about the team’s training camp, Simmons continued: It was a very interesting experience. Obviously, the team's training intensity is very high, and everyone often communicates loudly. So, everyone is very excited about it, and each of us is trying to adapt to each other and the whole process is very enjoyable.
In the NBA regular season last season, Simmons played 70 times in 82 games for his old club, the Trail Blazers, averaging 32.7 minutes per game, with averaging 19.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.1 blocks, 2 turnovers and 1.7 fouls, with a shooting percentage of 42.6%, a three-point shooting percentage of 36.3%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 90.2%. Simmons' performance last season was not bad, but it was not particularly outstanding either. Simmons is indeed a good scorer, but his offensive efficiency and three-point shooting percentage are not outstanding, and his performance in passing and organization is not outstanding, and his performance on the defensive end is also relatively average. Simmons can play excellent data, but he really has no way to help the team make greater breakthroughs and improvements in their performance.
In a deal this summer, the Celtics sent backfield veteran Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers and obtained Simmons from the Trail Blazers. There have been news that the Celtics hope to send Simmons away again and exchange for cheaper players, but the deal has not been reached so far. Simmons also participated in the team's training camp and is expected to stay in the team for a while. I wonder what kind of performance Simmons will perform in the NBA in the new season next season. Can he perform competitively enough and gain a foothold in the team?
