September 29th, today, the Denver Nuggets held a new season of media people's activities. At the event, Nuggets GM Tengzell talked about the contract renewal of the team's star Nikola Jokic: "No one can be told, but both of us are in good spirits at the moment."
According to the Denver Post reporter Bennett Durando, sources said that Jokic has informed the Nuggets that he will not renew his contract early this offseason and he plans to wait until next summer to negotiate contracts.
Previously reported that Jokic, 29, can sign a three-year max salary with a total value of $212 million in advance, which will be attached to his existing contract, and his current contract will last until the 2026-27 season and include a player option for the 2027-28 season.
If Jokic postpones renewal until next year's offseason, he will be able to make an additional $80 million (that will be renewed for four years and $292 million).
