Former NBA player Eman Shampert expressed some regrets about his role in the league when he was young, saying that he "according to the roles assigned to him by others every year." He felt that he could have insisted more on being a player in the main ball possession/organization than always accepting the type defined as defense + three-pointers (3&D).
Eman Shampert said he hated the role of 3D players in New York and Cleveland and believed that he finally got free space in Sacramento.
Shampert mentioned that he felt more free in the Kings and his smile returned to him. He said that when he recovered from injuries and his physical condition allowed, he could focus on playing and relieve those feeling of being "bound by characters", he felt that "different types of happiness" was back.
