As of today, the only five center players left in the NBA free market in the offseason in 2025

After the free market opens on Tuesday, NBA teams that require big inside players are scrambling to sign top centers. Myers Turner, Clint Capela, Brooke Lopez, Luke Cornett and other top big guys left the trading market the next day. Still, for those teams looking for height and length in the penalty area, there are some options that don’t sign a contract that can make a difference.

Here are some of the best free agent centers still on the market.

5. Bismarck Biyongbo

The San Antonio Spurs chose Bismarck Biyongbo when they were seriously injured in the frontcourt. Biyongbo did not start the team in the 2024-25 season, and he brought improvements to the Spurs in 28 games, including 26 of which were starters. The reliable center averaged 5.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.

The 6-foot-8-inch Biyongbo is shorter, but he works hard in the penalty area. He also won't shoot outside the middle distance, which limits his role on the offensive end. Biyanbo is a substitute center who can effectively do dirty and tiring work for the team.

4, Thomas Bryant averaged 6.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game with the Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers. As the third center of both teams, he plays 14.6 minutes per game. Kobe has a higher figure, better mobility and scoring skills than Bi Yangbo.

Just two seasons ago, Thomas Bryant (Torbu) averaged 12.1 points per game with the Lakers. If he is given playing time, he can still contribute to teams that need centers. Before becoming an unrestricted free agent, Tobu was part of the Indiana Pacers who entered the NBA Finals in 2025.

3, Jackson Hayes

The team may not renew his contract after Lakers head coach JJ Redick loses confidence in Jackson Hayes. When the Lakers pulled Mark Williams' deal, they tried to make him the starting center. The playoffs proved that Hayes was not competent for this task.

Hayes can still provide frontcourt depth for NBA teams looking for centers. The 25-year-old 7-foot player can be a backup big man.

2, Al Horford

Al Horford is 39 years old, but he seems to have a lot of energy. The Boston Celtics controlled his playing time, keeping him from playing back to back. Horford averaged 9.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He showed in the playoffs that he still can defend well, even when forced to defend the outside players. Horford also had a 40.0% shot from the field in the playoffs, proving his worth as a spacer.

Horford can still start for a limited time. He may be a key player in the playoffs.

1. Moritz Wagner's season was interrupted by a torn ACL in December last year. He averaged a career-best 12.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game before the season-end injury. Wagner's shooting percentage was 56.2%, of which the shooting percentage was 36.0%.

The Orlando Magic's frontcourt roster is strong, allowing them to reject Wagner's $11 million contract. Other NBA teams looking for reliable big guys may sign the German.

Wagner likes contact in the penalty area and opens up space through the outside shot. He probably won't be on the NBA free agent roster for too long.
