May 10th BBC reported that if Paratic returns, Tottenham Chief Football Officer Munn may leave office.
Tottenham is expected to save this troubled season against Manchester United in the UEFA Cup final and win its first trophy since 2008, but breaking into the event is somewhat insignificant for the club. Because no matter the success or failure of the European war, changes will come to Tottenham. Currently, the team is only ranked 16th in the Premier League, and some internal adjustments have begun to appear.
The most important decision will be the stay and departure of coach Postkoglu. Although the Australian coach led the team to the European finals, his position as coach is still in danger.
The annual department review may also trigger adjustments, with the disastrous injury record this season putting the medical and physical fitness teams under scrutiny. The board will also welcome a new face, with former Arsenal CEO Vincartsham joining the club.
Similarly, the return process for former football director Paratic is in progress. BBC Sports learned that although people familiar with the matter said that no final agreement has been reached and that it may take longer, the plan to appoint Paratic to the new architecture management team is indeed feasible.
Palatic, who joined Tottenham in 2021, resigned in 2023 because the Italian Supreme Sports Court upheld his two-and-a-half-year global ban on suspected of financial violations during Juventus. During the suspension, he still worked for Tottenham as an informal consultant and frequently appeared on the stadium. The suspension period will end in July, and if negotiations go smoothly, it will pave the way for a return.
The 52-year-old senior manager is highly respected in European football. His interpersonal network is precious to Tottenham, which is about to enter a critical summer window. Paratic has led important signings such as Romero, Kulusevski and Bentankur.
If Paratic returns, current football director Scott Munge may not be able to stay. Munn's future has been doubtful for months, and technical director John Lange is expected to remain in office and continue to dominate the player inspection work in the transfer market.
If Postkoglu leaves office, Lange's participation in the process of selecting the coach will affect the candidates. As a compatriot and supporter of Thomas Frank, the Brentford coach who advocates statistically signed may be more popular. Marco Silva of Fulham, Ilaura of Bournemouth and Glasner of Crystal Palace are also among the candidates.
It is worth noting that the victory or defeat against Manchester United will directly affect Tottenham's summer window strategy. Winning the championship means qualifying for the Champions League, which will open many closed doors for the club.
