On August 24, with the end of the last competition, the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC) came to an end in the eyes of the crowd. E-sports giants from all over the world competed fiercely in 24 popular events, presenting an unparalleled e-sports feast to audiences around the world. The total prize pool of the event exceeded $70 million – a record high in esports history – including a $27 million prize set for the club championship, allocated to the top 24 clubs. More than 20 Chinese e-sports clubs participated in this e-sports World Cup, reaching the largest scale of Chinese e-sports clubs ever.

The Chinese Esports Army performed particularly brilliantly in this World Cup. The peak viewership occurred in the second week of the "League of Legends" project, with a peak audience of 7.98 million and a total viewing time of 350 million hours. All data surpassed the first event in 2024. The competition and event also attracted 3 million visitors to Boulevard City in Riyadh, more than 2.6 million last summer.

E-sports is not only a stage for competition, but also a bridge for cultural exchanges. Against the backdrop of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Saudi Arabia, during the 2025 Esports World Cup, Tencent Esports and EWCF held the "China-Sales Esports Cultural and Tourism Carnival" e-sports cultural event in Beijing and Saudi Arabia respectively, using e-sports as a medium to build a bridge of exchanges for young people in the two places.

Esports World Cup Foundation Chief Operating Officer Mike McCabe said: "China is the world's largest e-sports market and an important force in promoting the development of the e-sports industry. In our global development plan, China is the core region that helps us realize our vision. We look forward to working with Chinese partners to strengthen ecological construction, create new opportunities for clubs and players, and bring the excitement of the e-sports World Cup to fans across the country."

Esports World Cup Foundation Chief Product Officer Faisal Bin Homran said: "The 2025 Esports World Cup has achieved great success. We not only gathered the world's top teams to the top venues, and continued to present the highlight of e-sports talents and industry innovation, but also committed to joining hands with leading game manufacturers, brands and creators to expand strategic cooperation and create breakthrough opportunities to lead the future of the industry. All this has just begun. With the continuous evolution of e-sports, we will continue to optimize the event experience and bring a more exciting future to players, fans and the vast community."

With the successful conclusion of this event, the global e-sports enthusiasts have turned to the 2026 Esports World Cup. The historic breakthrough of the Chinese E-sports Corps has accumulated valuable experience for future international events. The third e-sports World Cup will return to Riyadh from July 6 to August 23, 2026. We look forward to the continued glory of Chinese clubs next year and show the strength and style of Chinese e-sports in more competition events in the 2026 e-sports World Cup.
