Official: Derek Cohen joins Berlin United from Galatasere

Hupu, August 19th, Berlin United officially announced that 26-year-old left-back Derrick Köhn transferred from Galatasaray to join the team.

Cohen played for Werder Bremen on loan last season, played 30 Bundesliga games and scored a goal when he debuted against Mainz in his Bundesliga.

This Hamburg-born player comes from the Hamburg youth training system. He transferred to Bayern Munich in 2017, representing Bayern second team in Germany and amassed experience in the youth Champions League. Since then, Cohen has played for William II of the Eredivisie and Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga (53 appearances, contributing 8 goals and 12 assists), and joined Galatasaray in February 2024.

Cohen said during his debut: "Berlin United is very suitable for me. It is an attitude, conceptual and cohesive club. I look forward to being able to use my ability on the wing and believe it is very consistent with the team's playing style."
