Marca reported on October 9 that the Disciplinary Committee of the Spanish Football Association once again punished Andorra FC in the Spanish Second Division. This time it fined 9,000 euros and warned that if similar incidents occur again, it will face more serious penalties. The penalty stems from an incident that occurred in the dressing room of the Estadio Nuevo in Andorra after the game against Leganes last Saturday, in which Gerard Pique was the main person involved.

According to the resolution, Andorra FC, chaired by Ferran Villasacca and with Gerard Pique as its largest shareholder, was fined 9,000 euros for violating Articles 114, 70 and 93 of the Spanish Football Association Disciplinary Code. Article 70 relates to breaches of tolerance and respect, while Article 93 refers to failure to comply with federation decisions.

In its resolution, the Committee also warned the Andorran club that if conduct of this nature occurs again, additional penalties may be imposed in accordance with Article 93.1 of the Spanish Football Association Disciplinary Code.

In fact, Article 93 is about the situation where the federation’s decisions are not implemented. Its first point states: “Intentional and repeated failure to comply with orders, instructions, agreements or prescriptive obligations issued by the relevant federal agency shall be considered a serious violation and shall be punishable by a fine between 602 and 3006 euros by the responsible disciplinary body in accordance with the rules contained in this Regulation, and One or more of the following additional penalties: ban from one month to two years or at least four games, or closure of part or all of the venue for up to three games or two months, or three points deducted from the final ranking."

The referee's report mentioned after the game, club analyst Julian Ezequiel-Pe. Denera said to the assistant referee: "You are so shameless." As for Gerard Pique, the report stated that after hearing several violent knocks on the door in the referee's locker room, he opened the door and found Mr. Pique. He told the referee team: "This is really embarrassing. Now, if you want, take it. Let’s put it in the record.”

This fine is in addition to the 15,000 euros fined by several players, including Jaime Nogues, Carles Manso and Gerard Pique, for protesting against referee Alvaro Enna Wolf during the game against Mirandes.
